Coping with Hearing Loss Workshop

There are approximately 28 million Americans with hearing loss significant enough to affect their daily lives. We've never seen any good numbers on how many of them have done something other than hearing aids to help them cope with hearing loss issues, but anecdotal evidence is that it's a very small percentage. That's extremely unfortunate; there is so much a person can do to help them cope with hearing loss. But the vast majority of people never take advantage of their options, because they are unaware of them.

This workshop informs participants of the various options available to them, many at little or no cost. Many participants remark that they wish they had workshop 20 or 30 years ago! It would have made such a difference in their lives!

We provide this workshop in a variety of formats and durations. We can present the core material in as little as an hour; time constraints require that that presentation be almost entirely "lecture" format. A two or three hour program allows a more comfortable pace, greater audience participation, and the application of a few interesting learning aids.

The most comprehensive format is a full day session, which is more comfortably presented as four or five meetings of about two hours each. This format naturally provides greater opportunity for participatory interactions and learning aids. For a two-day session, such as a weekend retreat, we combine this workshop with our Communications Workshop for a truly in-depth learning experience!

Here's a syllabus of a "typical" Coping with Hearing Loss Workshop. Your mileage may vary!
